The Publisher Series: Elise By Olsen in Conversation with Cecilia Dean
15.10.2020 / Cecilia Dean started publishing Visionaire, a limited edition publication venture, back in 1991. Together with two friends she decided to start a magazine; a vehicle for creative people who had nowhere to publish more experimental, personal work, especially within art and fashion image-making.
Since, Visionaire has collaborated with an extensive list of artists and brands, conceptualizing and producing content, experiences and art; within and beyond – morphing and redefining; the publication format.
For the International Library of Fashion Research’s ‘The Publisher Series’, director Elise By Olsen conducts in-depth conversations with leading contemporary fashion publishers; from micro-press to media conglomerates. What is fashion publishing today, and what has it been? This ongoing series introduces the very fundamental basis of the library; the publishers – pulling out publications from the library’s permanent collection to create corresponding conversations with the people behind them.
