The Publisher Series: Elise By Olsen in Conversation with Karchun Leung
15.10.2020 / Karchun Leung has been working in publishing for the past 20 years, first with his own self-published music magazine Break, a newspaper, then a monthly magazine, through Hong Kong Magazine, then a weekly with China’s most influential style magazine Modern Weekly Style. With a background in writing and visual merchandising, he has held various positions like deputy editorial director and senior fashion director, going on to become Editor-in-Chief of prestigious Numero China back in 2013.
For the International Library of Fashion Research’s ‘The Publisher Series’, director Elise By Olsen conducts in-depth conversations with leading contemporary fashion publishers; from micro-press to media conglomerates. What is fashion publishing today, and what has it been? This ongoing series introduces the very fundamental basis of the library; the publishers – pulling out publications from the library’s permanent collection to create corresponding conversations with the people behind them.
