Thea Mikkelsen

Thea Mikkelsen has more than a decade of experience working as an executive coach, consultant and leadership course designer for the creative industries. She has worked with hundreds of professional creative people from the beginning of their careers and until international acknowledgement in art and business. For over 13 years she has designed and taught courses on leading and performing professional creativity for the Danish Association of Architects and the Danish Filmschool’s Professional Development Program and has worked for both the Danish and Norwegian Film Institutes. Thea Mikkelsen is the author of three books on professional creativity in Danish and her first English book on professional creativity Coaching the Creative Impulse – Psychological Dynamics and Professional Creativity was published at Routledge in 2020.
Thea Mikkelsen is a trained psychologist with 10 years of training as a psychoanalyst and holds MA and MSc degrees in both Psychology and in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Copenhagen.
She is a member of the Danish Association for Psychologists and she is a Candidate in the Danish Psychoanalytical Association and since 2020 board member of ISPSO – The International Society for the Psychoanalytical Studies of Organizations.
Thea Mikkelsen lives in Milan, Italy, with her husband and their two daughters.
